I’m Tasyam Govender, a professional Town Planner based in Cape Town and the founder of Tasyam Govender Town Planner. I work with clients throughout Cape Town, providing practical, professional guidance on Town Planning and Land Use Management matters. My goal is simple: to help clients move their projects forward with confidence; by providing clear advice, strong motivation reports, and planning solutions that deliver results.

I hold a Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) and a Master of City and Regional Planning (MCRP) from the University of Cape Town.

I am registered with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN) as a Professional Town Planner. The Practice is also separately registered with the South African Council for Planners.

Over the years I have worked on projects throughout Cape Town, assisting with a wide variety of planning matters under the City’s Land Use Management system.

These projects have included residential developments, commercial properties, mixed-use developments, subdivisions, consolidations and various development applications requiring detailed planning motivation.

Working across different areas has given me valuable insight into local planning policies, zoning requirements and the practical considerations that influence decision-making.

My interest in the built environment began long before I became a Town Planner. After studying architecture, I developed a passion for the way planning decisions shape neighbourhoods, support economic growth, and improve the quality of cities. This led me to pursue a career in Town Planning, where I’ve built extensive experience managing development applications across a wide range of property types.

Today I assist homeowners, architects, developers, businesses and property owners with residential, commercial and mixed-use planning matters, ranging from relatively straightforward applications to more complex developments requiring co-ordination with multiple professionals and government departments.
